I am rather experienced at this game and I know it can be tough being a new player entering a group where somebody already has a large advantage, so If anybody has any questions about the game or needs help understanding the basic fundamentals of the game, feel free to ask questions here. I'll be active and will reply to everyone I can :)

1) if you are experienced how is that you are in a rookie group?
2) starting with equal cars levels, how can you be 11 seconds faster in Q1&Q2 ? that bad is my driver? that bad is my setup?
I think probably the game algorythm is over exagerated

Quote ( Ignacio Belatti @ May 11th 2016,00:26:54 ) 1) if you are experienced how is that you are in a rookie group? I asked for my account to be reset by the admins because I went so overdrawn while in master that it was impossible for me to race. Unfortunately that means I have to start from Rookie again, which is a) bad for me as I lose any progress I made, and b) bad for new players having to race someone who isn't a newbie.
Quote ( Ignacio Belatti @ May 11th 2016,00:26:54 ) 2) starting with equal cars levels, how can you be 11 seconds faster in Q1&Q2 ? that bad is my driver? that bad is my setup? This is mostly down to my driver. There are certain driver stats which give much more speed than others, and I've been training this stat since race 7 last season. But other reasons could be:
a) Your tyre compound choice. Obviously harder compounds are slower, but the severity of the loss in pace is affected by temperature, which you will be able to see if you collect a bit of data, or try doing lots of practice laps in different temperatures.
b) Your setup. It is possible to get a perfect setup in 8 laps if you already know how large the "satisfied" range is. This can be worked out by finding the exact point at which a part changes from "satisfied" to "this part is too high/low". The mid point of those boundaries will be the perfect setup for that part. At first finding these boundaries will be trial and error, but you may notice quickly what affects these boundaries.
c) It is my driver's favourite track. This doesn't give a massive speed bonus, but it is always noticeable. Here I would say it is worth at least 5 tenths.
d) Some driver stats can cause large driver errors, and one stat can reduce them. Using higher qualifying risks can indeed bring better times, but can also bring drastically worse times. My qualifying lap was only 1 tenth slower than my net practice lap, but my driver won't make too many errors with his stats. Some errors can be as large as 1 second or more. Try and figure out what your driver's mistakes are like in practice. If they're quite high (more than a few tenths) I would recommend you don't use high risks (push to the limit) in qualifying.
But yes, it's mostly down to the driver and how he is trained. To get a good idea of what stats make a good driver, the best place to look might be in the amateur driver market (86-110 OA bracket). The most sought-after drivers aren't necessarily the best, but managers here have more of an idea about which stats are better for speed. This page and the one after it contains all the 110 OA drivers: /gb/AvailDrivers.asp?Page=20&MinOA=110&MaxOA=120&... Try to see a pattern in the drivers with the highest amount of bids. Think what skills these drivers have that your current driver doesn't, and try to find where your driver can benefit the most by training which skill. There is one specific skill which is widely overlooked in Rookie. I believe the first skill people suspect to be the best is concentration, which makes sense as drivers in the market tend to have quite a lot of it, which makes it look good. However some are completely overlooked because most drivers on the market start with very little of it, so it is assumed bad. But it would be better to assume it's always so low on the market because it's desirable and drivers with high values in certain stats are hired quickly.
Anyway, that's a lot of typing for now. I hope that helps a little. If you have any more questions please ask :)

Oh thanks for the time you took for the fine reply Josh.
I am sure my setup is not that far away from ideal, Im doing exactly what you say regarding ranges. I think that probably Im overlooking the compound selection vs temperature thing..... probably basing my choice in tyre wear/number of stops because pit time loss.
I have a driver with good concentration and maybe it lacks a little bit of talent, but thanks to you now I see what it lacks the most!

Glad to help :)
Just for your information (and this is fine to tell you as it's easy to work out, simply by doing two practice laps with the same setup on different tyres), the tyre compound difference (TCD) is over half a second between tyres this race, and I'm on extra softs :)

Ah, so that's why Monaco isn't the next track. GPRO usually follows the F1 calendar and has the Friday GPRO race at the same location as the F1 race. Nice to see them change it for the Indy500 :)

Well done Seb, a 2 stop was bold :)
Yeah, as you probably noticed, that race completely kills the engine, so I decided not to bother buying one. Don't worry, should be back on form next race.

Thanks, I am just a bit sad, that Domingo had a random, would have been an interesting battle. I think in him we have another one aiming for the top positions ;) Well, in Monaco its going to rain, could happen anything again

I was in damage control this race after watching Josh going that far at Indy. Started with 6parts at arround 85% and was a high wear race. Dont forget Montreal is my drivers favourite and i will have a fresh car next one;)
