Madeira is Portuguese territory, Mozambique was at that time a Portuguese colony iirc. Bit off a difference.

Eusebio is 100% Portuguese.
Moçambique, at that time, was Portugal, as Madeira is today.
Imagine that Madeira become an independent country in the future?
Ronaldo it will be really Portuguese?

Not arguing either :D but... we do see him a as true Portuguese, just like other countries see their "foreigners" as their own :D

Territorry or not, important is what that guy feels and which nation is playing for.
In such case, 5 Albanian players in Swiss team should not be called Swiss players because they are not genetically. Or Ozil for Germany and so on.
For as long he represents a nation, means he is part of that nation.

Things were different back then, you could play for as many national teams you wanted to. Even Puskas played for both Hungary and Spain.

yeah Andrei, unfortunately Gomez has been in touch with a ball for 26 seconds in two first games... and Ronaldo has already hit 4 or even 5 posts and still both of them have 3 goals :/.

ok, admit Ronaldo is a great player etc
but what I find bloody annoying is that in every Portugal game in every single possible moment broadcast switches to CR7Cam. It's like there are no other players on the pitch.
Same to a little less extent goes with Zlatan, Rooney etc. but not as much as CR .. dislike that even the broadcast tries to make games some superstar-vs-superstar games ignoring the all other team, like media drumming those mega names isn't enough already.
