This is a Special Silly Games Championship Edition of EPL Eliminator lasting 3 weeks. First matches are on 1st and 2nd of January.
In this edition of EPL Eliminator you need to pick 3 teams per week, at least one home and one away team. You can't pick teams you have picked earlier. You start with 5 lives. All matches are considered separately and each tie makes you to lose 1 life and each loss makes you to lose 3 lives.
If you go out of lives, you get eliminated. Amongst managers getting eliminated on the same week, the amount of lives breaks the ties. If still tied, the total goal difference of your matches decides, then your teams' goals in those matches.
Week 1:
West Bromwich … - Fulham Manchester City - Stoke City Swansea City - Aston Villa Tottenham Hotspur - Reading West Ham United - Norwich City Wigan Athletic - Manchester United Southampton - Arsenal Chelsea - Queens Park Ra… Liverpool - Sunderland Newcastle United - Everton
Deadline January 1st, 13:45 CET.

Pick Your 5avourites (GPRO category, team event) =====================================
PY5 will be contested in the winter edition of the Silly Games Championship, held between the top performers of the Silly Games Index.
It is a team event and if you have a team mate contesting in the Silly Games Championship then you must join forces and work together to make the best possible selections that you think will score the most race points over 3 rounds.
If you want to, you need not pick from a pool greater than 40 managers as the categories allow for this (group, one of the 5's, elite, team and game). Also, if teams wish they can pick from a larger pool in the optional categories if they felt they might score more points that way ;)
the rules:
* you must make a total of 25 picks who you think will score the most points over 3 races from the categories selected or chosen. * your picks will score points based on the incumbent GPRO points system * each pick may only be used once and not in multiple categories * you must pick 5 managers from all 3 of the compulsory categories * you must choose from 2 of the 5 optional categories and pick 5 managers from each. * the winning team will be the one whose picks score the most points over the 3 races.
tie-breakers:
* In the event of any tie, the team placed highest will be decided by who had the highest scoring round between the teams. * If two team's had the same highest round score then the team with the highest scoring pick (and subsequent picks) will be placed highest. * In the event of all 25 picks of two teams being exactly the same scores then the team placed highest will be the one which sent their picks soonest.
The categories are outlined below:
Compulsory Picks:you must pick from all of these categories: Group Picks - pick from your own group (one of you or your team mates) One of the 5's (P5, A5, A55, R5, R55) - team's must pick from one of these groups. Wealthy Picks - team's must pick from one class (Elite, Master, Pro, Amateur) on the list of wealthiest managers (excluding rookie). the list can be found here: /gb/Stats.asp?type=richmanagers#scrollOptional picks:you must choose two of these categories: Team Picks - pick 5 managers from your own team. Game Picks - pick 5 managers from the participants of the Winter Silly Games Championship (see particpant list below) Nation Picks - pick 5 managers from the entire list of ONE of the flags of you or your team mates (from any class). So, it must be all english or all Brazilian picks, if you had all english and brazilian managers in your team (and not a combination). Teamless Picks - pick 5 managers from the list of manager's not in a team (excluding rookie) - /gb/NoTeamManagers.asp your picks can be made from any other combination of classes you wish. Supporter Picks - team's must pick 5 manager's from one class (Master, Pro or Amateur) on the list of GPRO supporters; /gb/Stats.asp?type=supporters#scroll
Participant list for Game picks category:
Jonathan Beagles - A9 Tim Oliver-Wagner - P15 Andrei Ciuchi - P14 Greg Swaney - P11 Mairo Toom - P15 Janne Vaananen - M2 Pedro Diogo - R102 Finn Shaw-McIver - R102 Gareth Love - A2 Kirsty Ridley - P1 Mick Ridley - A50 Keijo Derneiko - R235 Riley Morrell - A40 Rafael Mantovani - M1 Paulo Pinto - M3 Joseph Wood - R246 Nicholas Carpenter - A22 Mikko Harju - A2 Michael Winkley - M4 Kirstjan Ilover - P16 Michal Kozuchowski - M2 Stefan Gommans - P16 Wopke Hoekstra - P4
============================================================================================
One person from each competing team must send me their picks via pm by the close of qualifying on January 4th at 18:30 CET.

Quote ( Jonathan Beagles @ December 27th 2012,23:54:04 ) Saturday 29th December – GPROVision entries open, FP League entries open
Probably a bit early for that, but considering it's New Years in-between, that should give plenty of time.
Question however for Stuart, since I am not familiar with this game.
Quote ( Stuart Foster @ December 28th 2012,01:01:30 ) Group Picks - pick from your own group (one of you or your team mates) One of the 5's (P5, A5, A55, R5, R55) - team's must pick from one of these groups. Wealthy Picks - team's must pick from one class (Elite, Master, Pro, Amateur) on the list of wealthiest managers (excluding rookie). the list can be found here:
You mean pick five managers from my own group or my teammates' group (all of the teammates or just those involved in the SGC game)? Then five managers from one of the groups listed (onlly one group can be used or all five)? And then five managers from one single class in the Wealthiest list (meaning if we want to pick from Master, we have to pick all 5 from Master, we cannot use other classes at all)?
Sorry for all the questions, but I was having bit of trouble understanding the instructions.

group picks can be from any of your team mates' groups, even those not involved in the SGC game, but all 5 of those picks must come from the same group
you must then choose one group from p5, a5, a55, r5 or r55 and make 5 picks from the same group.
wealthiest you must choose a class and pick from all of that class, so yes either all picks from elite, or all from master, or all from pro or all from amateur in this category.
then you must choose 2 categories from the optional ones
:)

Ok thanks, so I have time to think then :P I know I can't pick teams I picked before, but as I see it, people are taking quite sure teams in the 1st round :) [or at least favourites]

FP League (SGC individual event)
Here is a quick heads up for those not too familiar with the game and for those that maybe forgot how the scoring is done for SGC events.
THE FOOTBALL PREDICTION LEAGUE
Most of you are active players of this game, but, for everyone else, here's what you will need to do.
You have below the fixtures that you need to predict. What you will need to do is send me by PM your scoreline prediction for each match. Title of the PM should be "FP League: SGC" (just so I differentiate it from the PMs for the actual matchday taking place then). If you missed sending the scoreline predictions before a certain match started, you can still send the scorelines for the remaining matches.
For those that know how FP League works, one clarification: there will not be any one-on-one match-ups. There will be a specific SGC scoring system which is described below.
The scoring will be like this (it will be standings-based, not actual matches between the players): 3 points for a correct scoreline, 2 points for a correct result (meaning if you chose 2 - 1 and the actual score was 1 - 0, this will be considered 'correct result' as you predicted the outcome correctly) and 1 point if the player only gets the amount of goals for a team correct. In case of a draw between the players, the player sending the predictions first gets priority in the standings.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.
Fixtures to be predicted will be posted tomorrow afternoon. The fixtures will be played next weekend (I know it's a long time, but since we will have the New Years during the week ... maybe you need a little more time to provide the predictions. :) )

Just to re-iterate in case it is unclear...
Quote ( Stuart Foster @ December 28th 2012,01:01:30 ) It is a team event and if you have a team mate contesting in the Silly Games Championship then you must join forces and work together to make the best possible selections that you think will score the most race points over 3 rounds.
I only need one set of picks per competing team, not one from each individual
So, one set of picks each from Versant, Flying Dodo's, Scirocco, Jordan, Team Edifice, Kiwis Can Fly, Timless Racing, Barows Motorsport, New Blood and Volkswagen Racing.
Teams which have multiple individuals competing in the SGC should discuss amongst themselves their teams picks.
======================= an idiots guide to making picks: =======================
lets say my team (as example), Z Boys, are competing in this game:
based on the pick rules:
Compulsory Picks:you must pick from all of these categories: Group Picks - pick from your own group (one of you or your team mates) One of the 5's (P5, P55, A5, A55, R5, R55) - manager's must pick from one of these groups. Wealthy Picks - team's must pick from one class (Elite, Master, Pro, Amateur) on the list of wealthiest managers (except rookie). the list can be found here: /gb/Stats.asp?type=richmanagers#scrollOptional picks:you must choose two of these categories: Team Picks - pick 5 managers from your own team. Teamless Picks - pick 5 managers from the list of manager's not in a team (except rookie) - /gb/NoTeamManagers.asp your picks can be made from any other combination of classes you wish. Supporter Picks - team's must pick 5 manager's from one class (Master, Pro or Amateur) on the list of GPRO supporters; /gb/Stats.asp?type=supporters#scroll
Group Picks - In this category I would have to pick 5 managers from either P4, A41, A33, A54, A22, R1, P6, A62 and R70. Those are the groups that all my team mates compete in. It must be 5 managers picked from the same group, so it must be , for example, 5 managers all from P4, or A41 etc etc.
One of The 5's - In this category I would gave to pick 5 managers from either P5, A5, A55, R5 or R55. It must be 5 managers picked from the same group, so it must be , for example, 5 managers all from P5, or A5 etc etc.
Wealthy Picks - In this category I would have to pick 5 managers from the list of wealthiest managers and all from the same class. So it must be either 5 managers from Elite, 5 managers from Master, 5 from Pro or 5 from Amateur. it cannot be 1 from elite, 1 from master, 2 from pro etc...all must be from the same class...but NOT rookie, as that is excluded from the category.
Team Picks = In this (optional) category I would have to pick 5 manager's from my own team (fairly straight forward).
Game Picks - In this (optional) category I would have to pick 5 managers from the list of participants from the SGC managers index (I have listed them in post #5 along with each manager's respective groups so you can find them easily in the standings list)
Nation Picks - In this (optiona) category, since my team has only English and Welsh managers I must choose either 5 managers all from England or 5 managers all from wales. It can be from any class in the game and any combination, so if I wanted it may be one welsh manager from master, one from pro, one from amateur and 2 from rookie. All that matters is the 5 picks are all made from the same flag of one of my team members.
Teamless Picks - In this (optional) category I would have to picks 5 managers from the list of managers without a team. It can be from a mixture of classes i.e one from master, one from pro, and three from amateur. I may not choose from the rookie class though, as that is excluded.
Supporter Picks - In this (optional) category I would have to pick 5 managers from the list of GPRO supporters. All 5 picks must come from the same class - either Master, Pro or Amateur. So, I would not be able to pick one from master, two from pro and two from amateur, all 5 have to be made from the same class and excludes Elite and Rookie classes.
I hope that helps.

Eliminator Challenge [SGC Team Event] Rules
This will be a modified eliminator game and as such, will have 5 rounds, spanning both the NBA and NFL.
There will be 5 rounds:
1.) NFL Week 17 - December 30th 2.) NBA Gameday 1 - January 2 3.) NFL Wild-Card Weekend - January 5/6 4.) NBA Gameday 2 - January 9 5.) NFL Divisional Weekend - January 12/13
How to Play 1.) I will post the games you can pick from on this thread for each round a couple days before.
2.) For each round each SCG team will pick one team from the games provided, sent via PM to me (include your SCG team name as well). Picks are due by the start of your chosen team's game.
3.) You may not choose a two teams from the same city during the competition! For example, you may not choose the New York Knicks and then the New York Giants in a later round. (I will count the New England Patriots as Boston, so no Patriots/Celtics combos... just PM me if concerns)

5.) Last man/team standing wins!

GPROvision - Special Edition!
Hello guys, and welcome to the special edition of GPROvision! Most of you would have probably played or watched this game being played, but just to run through the general rules:
- One song per player - First come, first served - if the song you're sending has already been submitted, tough luck - Do not reveal which song belongs to you, let's keep it anonymous through voting stages - It must be the original song, no covers or anything remotely similar. Has to be original MV or at most, the audio. - First valid entry stays entered, changing it will occur a 5 point deduction to your final score.
The restriction rules are:
- Your song MUST have the letters S, G and C in it. - It should never have reached the charts in the UK. To check for its availability, just use this site: http://www.umdmusic.com/default.asp?Lang=English&Chart=A - It should NOT be more than 5 minutes long. - Using one of those letters for the artist does NOT count. You MUST use those letters for the song name ONLY.
Lets get this party rolling!
