Quote ( Fredrik Palmqvist @ March 13th 2020,13:01:06 ) I'll most likely not be taking part in regular activities like carting and such, unless it can be fitted in to our schedule (which already is fully packed). But sharing a beer or drink during day/evenings or have breakfast together should probably be doable.
Drink sounds doable :)
Quote ( Juha Korhonen @ March 13th 2020,13:01:24 ) I definitely want to participate this meeting. It's been a while since last one. Also 23rd in October is my birthday so I think Barcelona might be a good place to celebrate it (never been there though).
Would be good to see you too :D

So booked my flights back - if I didn't get the 10am flight on Monday it would have cost me around £100 more :|
So I'll be heading Monday morning - but at least I'll be there for the race presuming a) there is one to watch and b) the meeting actually goes ahead!
Crossing all of my fingers for it... :)
Fingers crossed this goes ahead still as this is about the most exciting thing I have planned this year :D
This might be a maybe for me now, considering I am now furloughed from work so might have a load of work to do for the next 6-9 months when I get back to working whenever the lockdown ends hah.

Well the World situation due to Coronavirus makes somehow this meeting doubtful to happen for now. I wish it will be possible, but nobody knows whats going to happen over the next months.
It looks like situation in Spain should be back to normal by August, but China has been dealing with the virus and after 5-6months and they still have new cases from time to time.... So fingers crossed and let see what happens.
Fingers crossed indeed Joaquín :)

At least I've got hotels booked for Thursday to Sunday. Haven't booked flights yet, as long as we're allowed into Spain and the situation allows us to be out and eat/drink we're most likely doing our trip, but with much less organised things.
Everything is booked for me - so really hoping we can still do this!
EDIT - Even a socially distanced version...
I've also booked everything. Although in my case I'm staying from Friday till Wednesday.

A win on Barcelona meeting for Jon would get him on top of all time statistics. No pressure.
Joint top if I get a podium and Haider doesn't - but that's unlikely...

Well it looks like new normality will require to keep social distance 1,5meters. Otherwise youre required to wear masks. You couldve fined because of this.
Dont forget to pack your masks haha.
I have no idea about the restriction of flying from other countries. Its too soon to say.
Probably we will need to be open minded about the possibility of doing this... its too son to say.
Karting time wont require to keep social distance though, i hope to bump into all of you LOL :P

Haha Joaquín - you'll have to get close enough to bump us in the karting :P
As for the restrictions etc; agree that it's too soon to say, though certainly if there's any way of me flying from the UK to Spain I will do it (regardless of forms, testing or whatever!).
October's a while away - over here everything is starting to open up again already, albeit with social distancing in place. Frankly I'd recommend keeping a good 1.5m away from Stephan Haider at the best of times though :D

Dont worry. I will do my best ;)

That would be nice. From what i heard, i believe Spain will discard to test every person flying here. Maybe taking temperatures or other things could be taken into account, its too soon to know, indeed.

Yeah, weve almost finished to open up things in Spain. In fact here in Barcelona, we just entered today the new "normality". keeping 1,5m distance and things like that. We will see how things works from now on. What worries me its that many experts are already saying that in the fall/winter cases will increase a lot again. Look at whats happening in Germany already... its scary :(

Luiz - the problem with a non-European event is that (while plenty of non-Europeans play the game), the main player base is European.
As such, you may be able to get people interested in an unofficial meeting (Flo has organised one in Argentina before) - but an official one would be tough to get loads of people to I fear. Particularly given that Vlad and Stefan are both European based - though I'm sure Stef once told me he was interested in going to Brazil...though that was a few years ago now! :)

Well the borders from all Schengen space is open...
Well lets wait what will happen next couple of months before deciding something...
Do you have any quarantine when arrived from other country? Some countries have it, but mostly from ones with >15 cases per 100k? population

Guys, time flies, the time for the meeting comes closer. But with the current numbers of corona cases and the given restrictions, I really can't see at the moment how we could hold a meeting in Barcelona in October. And honestly, right at the moment I would also not feel well to travel there. Also my family would not be very happy if I stick to the plan.
What are your thoughts? At the moment I really would be for cancelling the meeting this year and postpone it to next year. Maybe I would be then also be able to get a voucher for my hotel next year as I would not get a cent back if I would cancel it... maybe someone else has the same problem?

Yeah I am not comfortable travelling abroad this year. Am more than happy to do this next year? :)

Yeah I will have issues with getting money back and was hoping to hold out a bit longer for a decision (I uave travelled abroad once this year already and am doing again at least twice more), though I can totally respect if people want to postpone.
Can we make a decision ASAP though so I can try to get the money back.

My flights were already cancelled by the airline so it's clear I won't be able to attend anyway.

Well, cancelled everything I can cancel now.
@Jun Ho (R12) and any others based in England/Scotland/Wales - I believe it's the Portuguese GP that weekend. Anyone up for finding a decent pub to watch the race in together (obvs max. of 6 of us...), somewhere that's relatively central for us to go to?
Could combine it with a cheeky bit of bowling/karting or whatever to get a flavour of a GPRO meeting too? :)

I am definitely up for that!
Where will we meet? I am based in Cambridge :)
I'm in the North West (Sandbach in Cheshire) - but happy to travel anywhere.
Just looked and East Cambridgeshire is actually one of the best places to go in terms of COVID right now...so I'm tempted to say to go there! Let's see if anyone else UK-based is interested and work out what is most central eh? :)
@Brad Park (A82) @Gary Harding (R57) @Wayne Laundon (A83) @Jonathan MacLean (Ret) @David Rolleston (M1)
These are people I think are based in Britain and may have some kind of interest based on previous posts in meeting threads...few Scots there, worth noting I'd be up for Glasgow/Edinburgh too! Anyone I've not mentioned, just post to let us know you'd be up for this and we can then work out where a decent location is!
Obvs we can only have 6 people total though...
