S2 saw Haas once again keep their grip on the Constructor's Championship, with solid performances from the start to the end, despite their slight wobble at the finish. However, they failed to extend their dominance into the Driver's Championship, with António Félix da Costa of Jordan clinching victory on the very final day...
We begin S3 with even more fanfare and excitement. Will Haas get a 3rd title? Or will we see the others apply even more pressure on them?
Introduction This concept of this game was introduced and tested by Nate Lung, and with his permission, will be modified from that to this game.
For an example of how this game is run, see this post and subsequent posts: /gb/forum/ViewTopic.asp?TopicId=30014&Page=1
How to Play Each player controls 2 drivers from a team. For each race, you would have to submit to me a PM detailing the tyre choices and the laps which you want to pit in that race for each of the drivers, as well as a qualifying number (1-100)
Based on your overall timing, your drivers will be ranked in the race. Should timings be identical, tiebreakers will be based on your qualifying rank. Only the top 32 drivers in qualifying would make it into the actual race.
Each track would differ in the number of laps present. Races for a track will be 25% of the official number of laps (11-22 laps).
At the 50% mark of the race, there would be an elimination. The bottom 8 racers would be eliminated at that point and would not complete the race.
In the event that a race has an odd number of laps, the number would be rounded up. For example, in Melbourne where there are 15 laps, 50% mark would be after Lap 8 is completed.
Qualifying Based on the random number that you have provided to me for each driver, as well as the qualifying tyre, a qualifying time would be obtained for each driver. The formula for the qualifying time would be as follows:
Qualifying Time = 0.1s + (Difference from Random Number x Tyre Choice Multiplier)
Tyre Choice Multiplier will be as follows: OPTION - 0.1 SOFT - 0.2 MEDIUM - 0.3 HARD - 0.4 PRIME - 0.5
So to put an example, let's say you chose 25 as your qualifying number and starting on Softs, and the random number was 50.
Your qualifying time would be: 0.1 + (25*0.2) = 5.1s
Tyre Choices You have 5 choices of tyres to choose from. Each tyre can last for different lengths of laps, and would have different speeds. These tyres can be seen below:
PRIME - 1-9 Laps/ +0.5s per lap HARD - 1-7 Laps/ +0.4s per lap MEDIUM - 1-6 Laps/+0.3s per lap SOFT - 1-5 Laps/ +0.2s per lap OPTION - 1-3 Laps/ +0s per lap
No changes in tyre durability, and pit timings and traffic are not expected to be affected by this new tyre change.
You must use at least 2 compounds in the entire race. You can use any compound more than once, and you do not need to go the maximum distance for that compounds (Eg: You can go 6 laps on a Prime tyre).
Pit Stops You can make any number of pit stops you want in a race. Each pit stops adds 1.7 seconds to your lap time. In addition to that, you would +0.2s for every extra driver pitting in the lap.
For example, if a driver on Mediums pits in Lap 9 with 4 other drivers, his total lap time would be +2.8 seconds for that lap (+1.7s from pit, +0.8s from pitting with 4 other drivers, +0.3s for using Mediums)
Scoring Scoring would be given to the top 15 finishers as such: 20-18-16-15-14-12-11-10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1
PM When messaging me your choices in the race, please indicate the tyre of choice and how many laps you want to do with them, as well as a qualifying number (1-100) for both drivers. Remember to send in strategies for both drivers.
Example: Driver 1 (Qualifying Number: 10) Tyre 1: Softs (4 Laps) Tyre 2: Option (3 Laps) Tyre 3: Prime (8 laps)
Driver 2 (Qualifying Number: 47) Tyre 1: Medium (6 laps) Tyre 2: Soft (5 laps) Tyre 3: (4 laps)
Schedule Deadlines for races would be at 19:00 CET on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The calendar for S3 would be as follows:

Race 1 will be scheduled for this Friday. From now until then, you are free to change your team names, team colours and/or drivers.
Javier, I will need you to select a team name and 2 drivers. Team has to be a former or current F1 team, and drivers can be anyone (fake or real). Please do it on the thread :)

Both Ocon and Ericsson were given 2-season contract extensions following their great rookie seasons :)

After a stellar performance in Season 2, Minardi are delighted to announce that both Vergne and Buemi will be situ for another season at least.

Virgin Racing have decided to select Jules Bianchi to replace Alexander Rossi. We are confident in this young man's ability and maturity. He surely has a long career ahead.
In addition, Andre Curvelove will be replaced by James Bitchen for season 3. Thank you all.

McLaren has replaced Ka Mui Kobayashi as he leaves to become an Onlyfans model with Armet Must-Ash. Kamui Kobayashi retains his spot in the team following the dreadful season before.

Shouldn't Ahmet Must-Ash be a member of Virgin?
Cooper keeps the Finns

Ahmet Sonvirgin started with us late in season 1 but has since changed his name in order to avoid association with us :p

I can confirm Armet Must-Ash is NOT the same person as Ahmet Sonvirgin as the latter driver is shit.

Dino Miles announces retirement, and his son comes from the Jordan Academy for the 2nd seat at the main team
After 2 seasons of averageness, it is clear to Dino that he isn't in his top form anymore. As such, the 49 year old driver retired after an amazing career. He will be head of Strategy for the Jordan team, so we should be expecting some great strategies coming into play this season from Jordan. He will be replaced by Dino Miles Jr., his son, who showed signs of a promissing driver in his days at the academy.

In traditional fashion, BMW's second seat is vacant again after Timothy Timothy Timothy was fired after a successful season.
The team's manager has only told us "fine, I'll do it myself!" He will be driving under the codename Constant Hell.

Just a gentle reminder that any names that can be insulting to others in the game are not allowed....before I do an outright ban on any word play names of managers in the game other then you own, please respect these rules :)

Sorry everyone, had a busy couple of days so I will postpone the start of the game to Tuesday so that everyone has a fair amount of time to send in your strategies. I will do whatever updates that needs to be done tonight :)

Haas headquarters are announcing 17 upgrades to the car that would not be available until race 2, however due to this postponement to the first race, all upgrades will be completed and fully functional from race 1. Haas would like to apologise to every other team as nobody else will have a chance to win any race.
Sam Bam and Bob Wob have also commented "Ooga Booga Booga Ooga Boo" which translates to "Ricardo/Team Jordan, you have zero chance of winning the driver championship again, we will destroy you".

Its been a while, but finally, we hit the tracks again for another long season in OSR! 17 teams, 34 races, 1 crown....who will win it this time round?
We head back onto familiar ground in the Bahrain GP. They play host for the 3rd straight season, and will host the opening GP for the 2nd straight season. At 14 laps, it isn't the longest track, so it will be interesting to see the type of strategies employed on the opening day. Momentum can play such a huge impact, so every team will be fired up and hoping for their very best performance here to impress the fans and the sponsors. A definite point of interest would be the reduced pit timings, with that, teams will now have to plan a new strategy and mode of attack, since their plans from last season will have to change now. Only 4 days to go to the new season.....and as teams confirm their lineup for the new season, we can only wait in excitement as to how the new season will unfold!
Race 1: Bahrain GP Track: Bahrain International Circuit Laps: 14 Qualifying Record: Alexander Rossi (Virgin Racing) - 0.1s Track Record: Keke Rosberg (Fittipaldi) - 7.5s
Deadline to send me your strategies would be 19:00 CET, Tuesday 4th May. Should all entries be received before the deadline, I might do the race early. Failure to send would mean a start crash for both your drivers.
Note to all managers, remember that qualifying format has been changed slightly, now, only the top 32 in qualifying would race in the actual race. The bottom 2 will not take part.
In addition, eliminated drivers no longer contribute to traffic.
That might influence your strategy so take note of that!
