I sometimes mentor people. And in some way we're helping them by ridiculing their choices and decisions. We wouldn't ridicule them if their decisions would be wise ones.
Now it's up to them to look at the forums, which is not that unimportant in this game, but maybe they'd learn that in the mentor program! :P

For God's sake if you add more groups then add also new drivers if you add them at all

New drivers were added, but will only ever be added as new drivers, as confirmed by Stefan (if I could be bothered finding his post).
P.S. Well done on straight promotions all the way to Master without even being in a team. Some achievement.
EDIT - Found it... Quote ( Stefan Voggenreither @ April 4th 2013,15:24:24 ) As usual, new drivers appear only on Rookie level. But this time we won't delete and "recycle" any drivers with an OA > 55, we will just add fresh new drivers with OA < 85.

Yes indeed, well done. Proving it is actually possible without a DA. You dont have a DA do you? :) lol

There are quite a few managers in Master 5 who look suspect for DA. Very quick rises up the ranks of the game, with very little time spent on it.

No chance they could just be VERY quick learners and have good spreadsheet skills? I am honestly asking, I dont think I could do it, but thats not to say some else couldnt?

Thanks Kevin
This expansion is not decently thought through for sure

No DA, just pure luck :)

In what way? It was well thought out and there are very good reasons not to add new drivers at any level above Rookie. Everyone had the opportunity to promote or not, to build a driver or not, or to wait to compete in a driver market or not. Even playing field so I don't see an issue, and you got lucky with being in the "easier" group.

In what way? It takes a month to explain it and on top of that it does not change absolutely nothing

I got outbid 4 times last night, total waste of 2million.

Its not a complete waste.... :)
Youve learned not to try to get a new driver in the first few weeks of the admins extending the leagues! :)

Quote ( Elmar Kuusk @ April 26th 2013,15:27:16 ) This expansion is not decently thought through for sure I think it was thoroughly thought, but the options to balance the outcome were not very good. By the end of last season you pushed cuase you saw an opportunity, and I pushed cause I had no choice as I had the points to promote without looking for them. Your case was a happy one, but I can say I was one of the managers whose plan was affected by the game expansion and had to pay the price of the said expansion. I ended up promoting because no matter what I did, I was one of the best prepared managers at the new P18, full stop. I'm not happy with the outcome, but to be honest, I do not see a less painful way to expand the game: if you sort a new group with relegators, it's not 100% fair, if you sort it with retainers from other groups, it's not fair either... The lesser evil was what we got in the end I believe :/

I dont see the sense of paying 2mill+ a race at pro level.

I think he means the 500k per bid costs not 2m for driver's costs

Which one of two Andrews Masseys you quoted? :-P

Why would you need new drivers?
More people promoting should mean more drivers trained up and ready. If you promoted without a driver comfortably ready for pro, well, it's your own fault.

So spot on
The way i see it , when you are looking to promote you cant rely on being able to pick up a decent driver and even more being able to pick one up cheaply.

A month to explain? I read it once and understood it, taking a full minute of my time.
It changes nothing? It lets more players play the game so is required to expand the game.

Not to mention that if you are up to a new group (say, M5), you may suceed in retain there with your PRO driver, which might be crushed in the other M groups. There will always be + and - each time you look at the situation.

Quote ( Rogerio Pereira @ February 9th 2011,14:14:58 ) 45 bids already. Can this be The Madness of the season?
What about to improve a LIMIT of Offers to a Driver ? We´ll see some rookie drivers With Salary above 3 Million . The carrer of this driver will finish when the overall pass 85 . I can´t believe in someone who pays 3 Milion to a dirver in Amateur . . . ( Someone who plays Serously )
Now Explain this to Me ??? Look this Salary !!!!

Free market is a fair idea, but i really think there should be a limit for salary offer in rookie. No experienced manager would ever offer 3M+ in rookie, so set a limit to 5M or something.
EDIT: Might save some ppl making typos as well.
