Well for me (though I have a decent broadband speed) the site was ridiculously slow whenever the site had more than 10,000 users online. Whenever it dipped below that, the site ran smoothly for me.
well, relatively smoothly

Vlad just mentioned the server issues were fixed ... I don't see the logic in your statement, Shersh.

If it would be the network issue only - then we wouldn't see "It's racing time" already. Or do you think the network is THAT slow it takes 30 minutes the updates to reach my computer? :)

I just couldn't access the site and got this:
Internet Explorer cannot display the web page Launch HP Network Check
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An issue prevented Internet Explorer from displaying the web page. Click the button above to launch HP Network Check to automatically diagnose and repair the issue.
About HP Network Check • Can automatically detect, diagnose and repair many common network issues
• Integrated with Windows Network Diagnostics Framework, so it runs both simultaneusly
• Provides clear instructions to resolve issues that cannot be fixed automatically
• Shows key system and network information for easier troubleshooting
I'm a complete noob in those things, but it states the it's network issues just like Vlad said.
I even launched the HP network check. An automatic repair which has been performed was:
- Purge the DNS Resolver Cache (I don't know what that means)
It said that there was still a problem and what it could be / what I should do which was the following:
- Reset your broadband modem or router
- Please contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or network administrator
Well, obviously it's working again, but the point I'm trying to make is, that it's network related just like Vlad said.

This site is so horrifically slow. Something else is afoot.
I have tried watching the race replay about 6-7 times now and it just keeps jamming then I lose all access to site :(

so...the problem isn't the server, it's not the amount of users....how many more frickin times do we have to hear people repeating these same old statements of "again" and "get a new server" or "too many users" in between "time for me to stop supporting the game" jeez, don't people read the forum before posting these useless, unhelpful comments

Isn't that response the "denial" mode I mentioned earlier ?
Completely appalling service tonight...but it's not been a one off situation has it ? I don't really care whose fault it is.... The server, the network, the browser... It is not acceptable for people to pay for this entertainment service ... And that entertainment value has been destroyed...well tonight it was for me.
PS if I get a random next race...I won't be happy lol.... But I doubt I will bother trying to watch me get that random " live" if this is the level of performance :(

Slow at first then seemed ok about mid race,,,not really a problem

It clearly is. Your trying to tell me all of our ISPs are the problem? Fail.

You clearly fail to see that Vlad said that there was something in the code which caused it to be slow during the first 2 races of this season. This has been fixed.

|

Unless all of our ISP's go to same HUB to get to GPRO server & that HUB has a problem? In which case it is network issue.
|
|
|
so when is this apparent fix going to happen still awfully slow, network issue is with the host so its still an issue that you guys need to resolve.

Lowest amount of managers online I have ever seen and this site is being ignorant enough to say its out ISPs or at our end.
Do us a favour find the problem and fix it. Don't deny it please, A retarded sloth could tell you its game related, Server related etc

It could be network problem at the other end (i.e. the server end), couldn't it?

|

Yea but what I'm saying is if its their local servers then potentially there's nothing they can do as Vlad had said. Internet isn't a magic trick, it's just cables in the ground that plug into servers & link up. If GPRO local server is crap & there ain't another one to use then ..... answers on a postcard

+1. This is point I'm trying to make. Admins saying it is a network issue isn't the same as saying all our ISP's are at fault :)

Maybe I assumed this from them saying everything was fixed their end. It doesn't seem like this is the case.
I really hope they fix whatever problems are arising. The site has slowly become more and more unreliable over the last 18 months or so. I still remember when the site would randomly just slow when loading pages to sometimes a few minutes. Its slowly just built up to what we have now.
I just really hope they fix the reliability :)

I remember that I had the same problems sometimes, but haven't had them since a long time now (I think that I hadn't those problems again in the past 6 months or so). Apart from the first 2 races which is fixed apparently, I had only problems today which appears to be network related.
