Wow Race 8 brought the championship fight even closer. While Jaime and Renato swap races with 0 points, Marco has been super consistent and keeps piling up the points! Only 7 points separate the top 3!
Bad luck for you Renato. I am sorry to admit that I had a little smile when I was watching the race and read your 2 above posts. Sorry, I'm doing it again lol Hopefully your bad luck is behind you now.
Another nice podium for Jean-Maxime, only 10s off 2nd.
This races big mover was Juan Manuel Ramirez. Nice work for moving up 15 spots from your start position.
The Championship moves to Sochi where Jaime and Marco seem to have balanced cars and will be fast again. But Renato will be hungry to redeem himself. Will Atilla be able to control his finances enough to continue to hold the final Promo spot?
It will be interesting to see how this plays out! See you in Russia everyone.

you are mean, Rich ... you are laughing from my tyre puncture !!
"I lost millins !!! " hahaha Lets see if I can make it up for the next race ....

Did Race 9 Sochi provide us with some answers or just more questions?
Marco was steady and consistant leading up to another fine podium and oh so close to 2nd. Ranato bounced back nicely and managed to use his 3 stop strategy to second place. But Jaime was once again the class of the field showing great pace through out the race. You have to tip your hat to him, he is the man to beat in our group this season.
Big movers in this race were Atilla Wimmer and Pablo Andres Garza who each moved up 12 spots from their starting spot. I have to admit I needed to triple check that Atilla had started so far back because he's usually at the front of the starting grid. What happened Attilla?
Well our top 3 spots are looking secure, it's just what order will they finish? Will these top guys continue to battle each other all season right down to the wire? Or will one of them start saving much need money for their journey to Pro next season? Will Attilla be able to fend of the attack that is surely coming for his coveted final Promo spot? Who wants it the most?
These are the questions that I ponder....
Enjoy your weekend everyone, See you all in Istanbul, Turkey

What an incredible qualification time for Jaime, he's currently number 10 in overall qualification times. That's such a great time! Hopefully that means he's light on gas and will stop early in the race haha
Good luck to all in Istanbul!

Race 10 Istanbul belonged to Marco Ferraz!!!! What a drive by you Marco. Your strategy was on point. I bet you were nervous those last 4 laps as Jaime managed to drive right up to you. Really nice job of holding him off as we know how fast he is. Enjoy your Champagne Marco, you deserve it.
Jaime Santos was super fast in second, just 4 tenths back of first!! What can we say Jaime, you are the man to beat but Marco got you today.
Another solid run for you Renato. If you can't win or come second you may as well get 3rd!! Your pit crew was the fastest of the race! They are a bit special.
Attila was again solid and his 3 stop strategy placed him comfortably 4th. Fastest of the 3 stoppers, the next best 3 stopper was 17th.
Biggest mover this race was Andrey Gubka who moved up 10 places from his starting spot. Nice job Andrey.
Only 9 points separate the top 3 as we head to Round 11 Austria and the Oesterreichring. This is a Power hungry track and our points leaders all have Balanced cars.
Who will tweak their car to get the upper hand? Will Marco be able to continue his great run? Will rain play a factor? We shall see.
See you all in Austria!

Friends!!!! Did you see the finish to Round 15 Melbourne??? With everything at stake I couldn't believe what I was seeing!
That race was yours Renato. You were going to score 10 points, narrow the gap to first and have a real shot at the Championship with 2 races to go. Your strategy seemed to work wonders and had you leading on the last lap. I don't know if it was DE or worn tires but my god Jaime managed to hunt you down and pass you with just a few corners left in the race. You must be massively disappointed and probably well pissed off! You did everything you could my friend but it just wasn't meant to be. I hope your monitor or keyboard survived that last lap........:P
While the Championship may have been made clearer, PROMOTION certainly has not. With Attila going so deep in the negative it looks like the final promotion spot is back up for grabs!! My man Jean-Maxime has been strong all year but watch out for Tomislav Kohajda who has been really really quick recently. Who wants it? Who's going to get it?
We'll find out soon See you all in beautiful Buenos Aires!

AMAZING RACE !!
Hats off to jaime who had a brilliant win on the last corners, i hoped i might had hold him enough. it was so exciting to watch the final lap that i was just a little bit disappointed ! He might be pressing risks much higher than mine (also his driver might be much better ).... fair game and fair win !! my tyres were worn out ....
Since its pretty much defined i think im going to save some money and parts ...
thanks for the incredible season, and RICH THANK YOU FOR BEING THE RACE MC !! it was fun to read your impressions every race !!

Well friends, in just a few short hours S72 will come to a close. Those of us who watched the top managers battle were treated to a season full of excitement and surprises. Congratulations Jaime Santos for winning the Championship. It wasn't easy, you had to fight hard but in the end there was no doubt who the fastest manager was.
But even at the final race all is not settled. With Attila going deep into the negative financially that opens up a promotion spot! Jean-Maxime has 34 points Tomislav Kohajda has 32. Tomislav has qualified P9 while Jean-Maxime is way down in P14. Another driver with an outside shot is Andrey Stoyanov. He is 6 pts back of Jean Maxime but he has been pushing hard finishing 2nd, 4th and 2nd in his past 3 races! This should be a good one.
Even if your season is done there is something to watch!
Thanks Renato, Marco and Jean-Maxime for your friendly banter this season. I wish you guys good luck in your racing and hope to be grouped with you again when I'm a bit more competitive so we can race!
Good luck to our promotors and demotors, the rest of you I will see next season!

Was great to watch the mid race bunch for sure.
Im here to retain this season, won’t be near the front at all

Home race guys, i deserve a +15 place, so please stay behind TNX :D

Damn Rich Nicholls is pressing on the gas pedal this season :)
Congrats on your good results Rich, I hope you manage to promote to Pro at the end of this season!

Thank you Jean-Maxime! While I feel Martin is the class of the field this season, I hope I can push him a little bit. I hope your plans work out for you too. Good luck to you and everyone.

Awe man I feel for you Eugen. You were indeed looking good today. I think we've all kicked ourselves for doing something similar. Right guys?
If I could share my own sob story: I was leading comfortably today but with 20 laps to go I had a puncture and couldn't finish the race.
And it was my birthday too!! Gpro gods can be cruel.
|
|
|
That was rough, I saw you as Out, but didn't know why.
You were so far in front it took me about 8 laps to pass you.
Its a harsh game sometimes.

Rich, you deserved to win yesterday. You did everything right. I miscalculated tyre wear and ended up with wrong strategy. Lucky win for me, nothing else.

I guess congrats to Martin for a staggering season! U never really had competition. I'm a little sceptic about your finances but looking at your carrier this one is the best you yet had, so i'm pretty sure you have more cards to play. Good luck and i hope to meet you in 11 seasons in Elite :)

Thank you Eugen! :) Finances are my weakest point but at least I know where to improve. Promoting to Elite is ultimate goal but that is so difficult these days that I would be very happy to achieve that.
Good luck to you too ;)

@Chris Kolb a bit unfair our cup fight, i have lvl.4 car vs lvl7 car. Never the less, fear not i will bring the ruckus :)

Hurts so bad, i prepared the whole season for this race only to get a [T]. I can't wait the race end to see what happened(car was in top shape), hope my driver didn't forgot his juice bottle :(

Hey guys I just wanted to say that this group is extremely competitive this season, congratulations to all managers in this top 10. We're fighting tough battles!
Looking at this race's Qualification times, we have a very solid group of contenders up top. Many other Amateurs on my team have worse Qualif Times than me and they are further up on their respective starting grids. It means we're really fast!
Congrats to all for a very competitive season and good luck to everyone!
|
|
|
exactly Jean, i even made a topic about this on the main forums :D
But TBH except Diego(yes, only one) everyone is a over-spender. They are in good place right now but i'd like to see them recover for next season. Dan for example seems to be doing the same promotion mistake over and over! And the remaining races of the seasons are hella'a expensive! Fun group nevertheless!
Unless you top guys have something else in your sleeve i am looking VERY GOOD for next season!

Hi all, have a nice time this season ;)

|

Hey hey,
Good luck all. Will see you in the bottom of the grid :D
