Welcome to the sixteen official season of the Ultimate Race Manager. It's again time to battle for the prestigeous title of URM. There are a couple of changes - first non-gpro tracks introduced, URM Wiki finished and maybe something more :P
CHANGE LOG
Season 2) Pitting at the same time with your team mate is penalised, overtaking threshold slightly tweaked, overtaking on weatherwise different tyres made possible.
Season 4) Fuel mass penalty increased by 60%, rains and inters wear remodeled, tyres with wear slow you down more in rain than in dry.
Season 5) Hard compound twice as durable as before, 4 weather changes possible in the race.
Season 6) Rain's effect on pace difference between dry compounds halved.
Season 7) Tyre wear slowdown formula changed.
Season 8) Boosts implemented.
Season 9) Free tyre choices (apart from that the start tyre needs to be the same as qualify tyre if they both are dry), start tyres have wear from qualify
Season 11) Increased tyre wear for hyper softs, extra softs, softs, mediums by 10% and hards by 40%. Halved the boosts' tyre wear effect.
Season 15) Penalty system has been implemented.
Season 16) First non-gpro tracks introduced. Live screen for both qualifying and race introduced. Penalty system slightly corrected.

BASICS
Basically this game is simplified GPRO, where strategy is the only important factor. No randoms, no spins, no random weather, and as this will be all about strategy, hard or no overtaking. Also, this does NOT require your real GPRO race strategy and races will be held in different tracks. The season is 12 races long. 1 Race per week which is run every Saturday, while the deadline for sending strategies is 7:59 CET Saturday.
Deadline and penalties
Official deadline for sending strategies is 7:59 CET Saturday when the race is run on Saturday (may be extended by 1 day if the race needs to be run on Sunday). If the race is run in 'normal' mode and a strategy is send after deadline it resolves in penalty which is starting at the back of the field. If multiple players get penalty then their positions are ordered by qualifying times. If the race is run in 'live screen' mode then a strategy send after the deadline will not be accepted, thus resolving in a player missing the race.
Qualify
Starting positions will be decided from your qualify tyres and starting fuel choise. In case of the same time, the one who sent it before will be in front.
Starting tyres
If you qualify with dry tyres and start with dry tyres, they need to be the same (so same compound and have wear in them). So soft for quali and soft for start, soft+inter/rain, inter/rain+soft and inter/rain+inter/rain are all possible (the latter 3 start with 100&, while soft/soft with whatever you have from quali) but soft/hard for example isn't.
Race pace
From each lap you get a lap time. This laptime is affected by the base laptime of the track, your fuel, tyre wear and a collective random effect, which is same for everyone, but changes from lap to lap.
Pitstops
Pitstops happen when you don't have enough fuel or tyres for another lap. On pitstop you will change tyres and fuel to the amount you have specified. If you pit with more fuel, it won't be removed. Pitstop time depends on fuel you add to the car. (Pitstop time = Time in/out pits + 0.12 * Fuel you have specified). Time doesn't depend on how much fuel you have when you come into pits, so if you specify 80 litres, you will have a 9,6s stop regardless of how much fuel you have when you come to pits.
If you pit on the same lap as your teammate, you will have to wait until his pit is finished.
Overtaking
Overtaking is possible on easy and very easy tracks. On easy tracks you need 0,4s/km pace difference to pass and on very easy tracks 0,2s/km. Also, on other tracks, if you are boosting and are 0,6/0,8/1 s/km faster, you can pass. Also, if you have weatherwise (dry/inter/rain) different tyres compared to your opponent, you can pass if you are 0,4s/km faster.
WEATHER
Each race has it's unique weather forecast. It consists of
a) Temperature
b) Humidity
c) Rain intensity
given for 1-5 periods. If rain intensity changes between periods, track wetness will change too, but not instantly. The track will get more wet quite quickly, but it may take some time to dry.
COMPETITION
Season standings
Main competition is the season standings where scoring system is 15-12-10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 for each race. The tie breaker is the usual, most wins, seconds etc. If still tied, big race counts.
Rookie championship
Rookie championship is reserved for those who have done max 5 races on earlier seasons.
Individual Cup
After two race 32 best managers based on season standings will be seeded into cup competition consisting of 5 rounds with 2-2-2-2-2 races. In rounds with 2 races the winner is who
a) Won both races
b) Won a race by more positions than he lost
c) Won a race by more seconds than he lost
d) Scored more points over those two races
e) Was seeded higher
Missed race counts as number of participants + 1.
One Big Race/Qualify/Fastest lap
All season times are added to one big race/qualify/fastest lap as in GPRO. Missed race equals slowest time of that race +20s for one big race, slowest time +0,5s for one big qualify and fastest lap.
Teams
Two players per team. Teams can be only of past or present F1 teams. Collaboration between different teams is not allowed.
Team orders: Never let through/always let through.
Team mates can occasionally send the other one's strategy if the other one is unable to do so.
Teams participate in team standings (As in F1) and in Team Cup where 16 teams based on team standings are seeded after race 2 into four rounds which last 2-2-3-3 races. The better average position of team mates wins a race. In case of tie in a race the best result wins. In case of a tie in a round better average position of both team mates wins and then better average race time.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO RACE?
Just send me a message with tyre and fuel choise and boost laps. For example:
Soft tyres and 70/70/70 litres of fuel. Boost laps 5, 15, 25.
There are 7 tyre compounds: H.Soft, E.Soft, Soft, Medium, Hard, Intermediate and Rain. Harder compounds are usually slower, but they last longer, Intermediates and Rain tyres are used on wet track. If needed, you can specify different tyres for qualify, start and each pit, but if you qualify and start on dry tyres, they need to be the same (and they will have some wear in them in the start).
Fuel is from 10L to 180L.
Deadline for sending strategies is on Fridays at 23:59 CET.
Data storage
If you want to win, you should store a bit of data. For example if you use 200 litres of fuel in low fuel using track, you can count your fuel consumption and be ready when another low fuel consuming track comes. However it varies from track to track and in different conditions so the more data you store the better.

Also, for your information, when the track is wet, be careful accelerating out to back straight and the last turn is also very tricky and slippery.

What 2nd cups, in #2 there are S15 lineups, you weren't double champs back then :P

Mixed weather in Estonia is normal... :D Mid summer and mid winter temperatures are sometimes same...(Like Christmas and Jaanipäev(24.June))
