Yeah, the summer so far is really supporting that theory.

They reckon we will have an average temp of around 20-21 (72 farenheit) for this week, and thats the midlands, lucky London always has the better of it (24 Minimum) :(

Hmm.. Didn't they use 13 moons for 1 year, yes? And we use 12 for one year. So 2012 will come 100+~ years later :P
Eh...sorry, but you seem to be confusing "moon" and "month", (which are related, but not the same).
A "Moon" is 28 days (plus a few minutes). 28 x 13 = 364 days...that's remarkably close to the length of a year, if you as me...

of course it is, if we are going the same way as mars then it is global warming which btw is not man made like they reckon, its the cycle of the planet ( heating up, cooling down), its a process from the birth of time when the planet was a mass of lava, then it cooled to be known as the ice age and now its going through its hot phase again.... we call it man made global warming because its the first time man has had the insight technology to see this.
While it's true that the Earth goes through natural cycles of hot and cold periods, pollution is having an effect on the climate. Is it blown out of proportions by certain people and NGOs? Yes, most definitely. Does this mean we shouldn't limit emission of pollution? Most certainly not.

We should plant trees.

Is there any reason why the world will end now rather then later?

Not exactly.
Only a large scale asteroid collision or a nearby supernova could wipe all life from the earth and neither are even remotely probable.

the planets got 5 billions years left before our sun supernova's. It will probably be around longer than us. And ice ages cycle every 10,000 appx. we cant change that its enevitable. Our biggest problem is over population and resource consumption. Nature will find a way to reduce or eliminate the parasite, namely us. So mankind is doomed :) There is only 1 hope and thats to find a way to infest other planets and start over. Which of course would probably have a slightly differant gravitational pull to the 1G here on earth. Meaning the amount of downforce applied to the front and rear wings and tire wear would change dramatically :)

Little green men have already for years controlled (most of) us. Just take a look at the traffic lights next time you cross a street... Quote ( Toni Metsänkylä @ July 14th 2008,09:13:37 )

To be honest, there might not be a planet in 2012 for the aliens to come and visit if you believe the scaremongering surrounding the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
Due to be turned on in 24 days - the worst case scenario is that it creates a black hole which doesn't (as expected) collapse in on itself, but instead stabilizes and start sucking everything into it...
If the black hole did manage to remain stable - it has been estimated that it would take 4 years to consume the entire planet.
You know what? I think the Mayans might have been onto something by saying the world will end in 2012 ;)
What I'd like to know is WHO actually decides to turn on this thing that could effectively end the world?! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Large_Hadron_Collider http://www.lhcountdown.com/

Ahh, that'll give us four years to construct a tonne of generation ships and get the hell out of here ;)
