Okay, where do we draw the line? 100 users? If the Internet is down in a certain country/region for a few hours, should a race be postponed?
Finland and Britain aren't certanly the same country + few some other countries that had some people that had issues connecting here.

I've found out there are 3 more managers missing the grid in my group; 8 hours ago there were only 24 managers in the grid, now it's 34 so it's impressive how many managers tend to qualify as later as possible, inducing an overload on server traffic an then moaning about why they couldn't qualify on time. As well as traffic jams can make you get late into work, server load can make you miss the deadline for anything important you should do on the net, so it's your fault. Live with it!

This is the internet people! Nothing is guaranteed. And on top of it all it's a game!! If this is sooo important to you that you have no other life then I feel sorry for you. GPRO IS A GAME! Nothing more, nothing less. If you CHOOSE to take the gamble of qualifying/changing strats at the last minute then more fool you.
Vlad has given a reply to everybody that could be bothered to read it. It was a server issue. Deal with it.
I challenge you to get a personal response from the president of AT&T, BT, Deutsche Telekom or any other service that you choose to pay for (IE none, unless you live in a market with total monopoly.)
I was lucky enough to get my quali done and if I had not then I would have said "Oh well, shit happens"
Get real, it's a game!

So what would a fair solution be?

The real question is:
Why should a race NOT be postponed?
Come on guys, it is a free game with no (real) winners!

Quote ( Laila Britāle @ July 5th 2011,19:39:46 )
so for example me had no chance to qualify during first hour after last race update due network/site problems...must we postpone race/quali deadline?
hey, i am human and ask equality! what if i had no time during all 4 days after that? i have a life too and my only time to qualify is first hour after race update.
This time i agree with Laila, if you don't have 10 minutes in 94 hours to do your Qualifying then stop playing, if they extend it this time then i leave the game asap. Bunch of whiners.

Both sides make good points, but its up to the admin, and he isn't extending it so end of topic really, can complain all you want. The admin is boss.

So you didn`t even have 4 minutes spare in your life from Friday `til today? I feel sorry for you.
And I feel sorry for you that you think it's ok that just because this issue didn't affect you personally, that you can make fun of those that it did.

Why should a race NOT be postponed? Because it would take years for a season to be over if a race would be postponed for every single time someone has a problem?

Actually, no, I have a job, a life and don't have hours upon hours to arse about on other days.
This is the situation that a great many managers find themselves in, including myself.
Quote ( Emma Cassidy @ July 5th 2011,19:44:21 )
And if you bothered to check, you'd see this is the first time I've missed a race in 7 seasons
I didn't check because this information isn't relevant.
Quote ( Emma Cassidy @ July 5th 2011,19:44:21 )
I could have easily taken about 4 minutes in total to complete everything I needed to do
I stand corrected: you couldn't spare four minutes over the course of four days. That's rough, my condolences.
Quote ( Emma Cassidy @ July 5th 2011,19:44:21 )
I don't see how it's "fair"
It isn't, but that's life for you (of which this game is a part, despite some seeming to differentiate the two). The line has to be drawn somewhere, and it is down to the discretion of the admins.

But its a load of people who had it for up to an hour before the deadline.

Read, understood and digested..... but I still say qualify earlier to avoid disappointment... not the first time this has happened.... and probably won`t be the last.
Bitching won`t change anything.... Vlad has given a perfectly good explaination.... accept it, modify your qualification tactics and move on.
Hear hear

Someone? We are talking about 15/20% of regular players!

|
Quote ( Gianluca Marchese @ July 5th 2011,19:42:08 )
If at least the 15/20% of "regular" managers could not qualify for the race I see no real problems to postpone a race. If only it was so many... Last race there was 10458 quailfied, this race 10184. So it's surely not more than 300 people, I personally think it's between 100 and 200. 1%-2%.

If you are a F1-driver, and wait in your hotel room untill the last minute to go to the track, and you end up in a traffic jam, do you think that the qualifs will be postponed because you are not there. Keep on dreaming!!!!!!!

That's another way to put it:P
I've missed only 1 race in my career, and that wasn't due to problems with the site.
Everyone does what he thinks is right, so do I.
I'd even put it on the grid wiith a horrible strategy.

So what would a fair solution be?
Lets have a `button`to be pressed by the last manager to qualify. Then we know everyone has completed their tasks come rain, shine, hurricane or server problems. Once this button has been pressed then Vlad can calculate a day for the race to start. Sounds fair to me.
