Vlákno: 6 sec gap Rookie to elite? |

Monaco seems to be the race that levels the playing field a bit. When I see the top Rookie qualifying times get within 6 seconds of the top elite times I can help but wonder??? I realise its a tight track relying on acceleration a lot, but 6 seconds? I would've thought the gap would be bigger when looking at the gap in driver skills, and less so for the large gap in car levels. Are any other tracks like this one?

Ahhh, you need to look at the circuit stats then things will become clear

Brian O'Neal, the guy who is the fastest in rookie, just got relegated for being in the negative last year, he's won every race I believe this season. But Monoco is one of the tighter track so it's going to be closer. O'Neal is light years above anybody right now in Rookie.

Yep, put 2 entire divisions of cars in those 6 seconds....... looks crowded there doesn't it :)

Short laps means the lap times will not be as far apart.

Great… That means if I were in Elite this season I would only finish 6 laps down to the leader…. if I were lucky. Doesn’t seem that impressive to me.
But I am happy with the car this season

I would seriously doubt it - you haven't taken strategy into account there...
You really can't compaire your Q times and draw conclutions from that
Could be that elite has 1 stop and you have 5...
Not to mention the overall race speed difference

Not saying that it's impossible - just stating that when the light are out and it's race time - there's a real difference.
When it's time to put consistant good laptimes on the board, there's no compairing elite and rookie drivers...
Or so I would imagine :P

i am for sure that elite is going 2 stopper or 3, and brian fro sure is going to do good. i think i am in the same strategy as him, hope my guy is fast enough. :)

Trust me I completely understand that. I'm not the one comparing my car to an elite car. I am just trying to run one race at a time and get promoted next season... maybe I will be in A-13 next season

Brian's car wouldn't survive the risks needed to have a chance finishing within the 90% rule. Nevertheless good job!
Remember those guys showing in the first 10 places in the Rookie Qualifying statistic often have very good drivers, capable of running them in Amateur (with various success but still). So these time aren't the best benchmark of the Rookie groups...

Actually they ran a 3-stop race and I ran a 2 stopper.

Treat those two sentences as seperate ones. The first one is regarding your chances in elite with current line-up and the second one is about your performance this season (getting so near the higher groups). Now clear? ;)
