Actually, in the FA cup final, he technically followed the rule book. He avoided having to give a red card due to the fact Aggy was heading away from the goal at the time he went down (though how it wasnt even a booking for Vidic Im not sure)
THe dutch were awful. They were a bunch of cowardly thugs in the first half who really should have had at least one player sent off. Webb done everything he possibly could to not send a player off and I really dont know why he bothered.
Spain however annoyed me with all the yellow cards they demanded, and if Webb followed the guideline of booking players that flashed the imaginary card or surrounded the ref then Spain could have lost a man or two.
In the end though Spain rightly won. Dutch planned a game of "kick the spanish and then maybe counter attack if we can be bothered between fouls" and didnt deserve to win due to it. If they had played the football they had in other games they may have had more success, but they decided to change totally and deserved to lose

they left there football brains in the dressing rooms,Spain deserved the cup they just tryed to keep playing there passing game,the dutch just wanted to kick players and not the ball they let themselfs down ,i was dissapointed with them, i expected a classic and it could have been if the dutch just played how we all no they can.

Muller won the golden boot (due to more assists of all those on 5 goals) and Young player of the tournament. Good on him - even if i am glad Germany didnt win the world cup that young lad was outstanding :)
I predict a £40m+ bid from Chelsea or Man City for him now :p

no doubt makes this clearer than the World Cup, football needs the technology to be more fair, and that will not happen again the great and amazing and disastrous mistakes of referees! incredible!

I will say refereeing was awful, although in my opinion, holland was lucky not to get booked more often or even had a player sent out. They played a very dirty game during the first 20-25 mins and saying otherwise would mean being blind (no offense intended). Then, especially in the second half it got kinda nasty either way. Iniesta pushed Van Bommel (I think) after he got tackled harshly and now foul was given, that was very ugly and no elite player should come down to that whatever the circumstances. But when it comes down to goals, lets face it, only spain managed to push the ball all the way down the net it was not offside, so that is what counted in the end lads.
